Polarity is finally set to unveil pre-production prototypes of six of its smart e-bike models. Pre-bookings will open post the official unveil this month.
Pune-based EV start-up Polarity is gearing up for the official unveiling of the pre-production prototypes of its smart e-bikes. As a build-up to the unveiling, which is set to take place this month, Polarity has dropped teaser images of all the models in question. At a time when the Indian EV industry is embracing numerous new brands, what sets Polarity apart from others is the fact that its smart bikes will be the first-of-their-kind pedal-assisted electric two-wheelers in the country. Further, Polarity likes to refer to these as India's first PMVs (Personal Mobility Vehicles). Their dual-nature of being used as electric bikes or regular, pedal-powered cycles eliminates the range anxiety usually associated with EVs.
Coming to the model line-up, the six smart bikes will be divided into two product lines: Sport & Executive. They've also been codenamed accordingly: S1K, S2K, S3K, E1K, E2K and E3K. While the teasers do not give out clear details on the visual specifics, what we know for sure so far is that all the bikes will be powered by electric hub motors ranging from 1 to 3kW capacity. All bikes will also use Lithium-ion batteries, which do not need any external charging infrastructure due to their pedal-assistance feature. The top-end Sport & Executive models (S3K & E3K) will be capable of achieving top-speeds in excess of 100km/h, and all models will have a claimed riding range of at least 80km, claims Polarity.
As mentioned above, the bikes will be available for pre-booking (post the official unveiling) on Polarity's website against a refundable booking amount of ₹ 1,001.
