The S1 Air e-scooter from Bengaluru-based EV maker Ola Electric just went on sale in India for ₹84,999 (ex-showroom). The new Ola S1 Air is the firm's most affordable model and is included in the line-up below the S1 and the S1 Pro. In a comparison of electric scooters based on specifications, let's take a closer look at how the Ola S1 Air fares against its siblings, the Ola S1 and the S1 Pro.
Battery
While the Ola S1 has a 3 kWh battery, the S1 comprises a 2.5 kWh battery. On the other hand, Ola's S1 Pro receives a bigger 4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. They each purport to have a range of up to 101, 141, and 181 kilometres per charge. The Ola S1 Air, S1, and S1 Pro each include Normal, Sports, and Eco modes. Besides this, the S1 Pro also has an added Hyper mode.
Performance
While the Ola S1 Air gets a motor with a lower power output of 6bhp, the Ola S1 and S1 Pro receive a hyperdrive electric motor with a peak power output of 11.3bhp. They each have a stated top speed of 95, 116, and 85km/h. According to Ola, a standard charger can fully charge the S1 Air in 4.5 hours, the S1 in 5 hours, and the S1 Pro in 6.5 hours.
Features
Hardware-wise, the S1 Air sports regular telescopic front forks, but the S1 and S1 Pro each have a single shock absorber. Additionally, the S1 Air has drum brakes whereas the rest have disc brakes. The electric scooters from Ola have a host of features. They all come with a MoveOS 3.0-connected 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, remote boot lock, navigation, reverse modes, OTA updates, and much more. However, the Ola S1 Pro is the only vehicle with the cruise control option.
Price
The Ola S1 Air, which retails for ₹84,999, ex-showroom, is the company's most economical model. Currently, the Ola S1 and the S1 Pro have an ex-showroom price of ₹99,999 and ₹1.40 lakh, respectively. In the Indian market, these electric scooters are up against the likes of the TVS iQube and Ather 450X.
