A tweet by Ola Electric's CEO – Bhavish Aggarwal – has confirmed the launch date of the brand's first product.
Last month, Ola Electric had thrown open the order books for its upcoming e-scooter and with the reservation price of just Rs 499, the scooter garnered an unfathomable response by clocking about one lakh bookings within the first 24 hours of the booking period. A few days later, Ola released yet another nugget of information via its social media channels – this time, they revealed the rather quirky & exciting 10-colour line-up the scooter will be offered in.
And today, in perhaps the most casual manner possible, Ola's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal confirmed a 15th August launch date for the scooter via his personal Twitter handle. Alongside the prices, details and final specs of the scooter, as well as the availability schedule, will also be announced on the same day.
Thanks to all who have reserved our scooter!
Planning a launch event for the Ola Scooter on 15th August. Will share full specs and details on product and availability dates. Looking forward to it! ????

The Ola Electric Scooter still remains unnamed. However, a leaked trademark filing suggests that it may be called the Series S. Plus, given the fact that Ola Electric has also registered the names 'S1' and S1 Pro', which could be the variants, this further increases the possibility of the scooter being named Series S.
Another key detail that's been confirmed by the company is that the scooter will take the direct door-step delivery route to reach customers across the country. Therefore, it looks like Ola won't be spending any time & effort in building a robust dealer network. Instead, it will work on building a robust in-house delivery network that can tackle the one-lakh plus bookings in a timely and efficient manner.
