The new Street Triple RS will be Triumph's first India launch of the year.
UPDATE: Due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, Triumph Motorcycles India has postponed the launch of the new Street Triple RS. A new launch date will be announced after 31st March 2020.
Triumph Motorcycles India ended 2019 on a high note with the launch of the all-new Rocket 3 R (BS-VI compliant) power cruiser at the India Bike Week. And now, the brand is all set to launch the 2020 Street Triple RS here on 25th March. Though the new bike isn't radically different from its previous version (visually), Indian folks are in for a nice change as we currently only have the standard Street Triple (BS-IV) on sale here.
For 2020, the Street Triple RS' 765cc three-cylinder motor has been fitted with lighter parts, resulting in higher torque output of 79Nm (than its predecessor). The power output at 121.3bhp remains unchanged. Other significant mechanical upgrades include the addition of Triumph Shift Assist (Quickshifter) and a new free-flow exhaust. You can read all about the performance and styling upgrades on the 2020 Street Triple RS in detail here.
As stated above, the visual changes on the 2020 Street Triple RS are minimal, with most body panels receiving mild updates. Major changes come in the form of a new twin-LED headlamp with integrated DRLs and a compact silencer with a carbon fibre finisher. In terms of tech and riding aids, the 2020 Street Triple RS will be offered with an updated TFT instrument cluster (with the 2nd-gen graphics and MyTriumph connectivity suite). Moreover, the five riding modes have also been optimised. Standard features like adjustable ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and switchable traction control have been carried over from the previous model.
