Royal Enfield is enthralling its fans at the ongoing Motoverse event with an exciting lineup of debuts/launches. After revealing the highly anticipated Goan Classic 350, the renowned bikemaker has now unveiled the Scram 440, equipped with a more powerful engine for an enhanced riding experience. In contrast to the current Scram 411, the new bike comes in two variants: Trail and Force. The latter stands out with its unique cast aluminium alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres.

Royal Enfield states that the new Scram is inspired by a genuine adventure bike, rather than being an upgraded roadster. It features off-road suspension travel of 190mm at the front and 180mm at the rear, a robust and rigid chassis, a low centre of gravity, and a long-stroke engine that delivers high torque at low revs for excellent acceleration and traction. Other key features include a top box accessory, a 6-speed gearbox, LED headlamp, tubeless tyres, switchable ABS, and new colour options. Read on for more details.

The new Scram brings a noticeable boost in power and performance, thanks to its upgraded Long Stroke engine, which provides high torque and superior drivability. With a 3mm increase in bore size, the engine now has a capacity of 443cc. This results in a power output of 25.4bhp at 6250rpm and a torque of 34Nm at 4000rpm, a significant improvement over the Scram 411, which produces 24bhp at 6,500rpm and 32Nm at 4,250rpm.

According to Royal Enfield, the updated 443cc single-cylinder engine includes a sixth gear, which not only lowers vibrations on the highway but also improves fuel efficiency. It also features an improved final drive ratio to enhance tractive effort, along with a redesigned pull-type clutch that reduces lever effort by 0.75kg and boosts durability. Other updates include a refined valvetrain that reduces engine noise, ensuring a smoother and quieter ride. These upgrades work together to make the new Scram a more powerful, versatile, and comfortable machine for both on-road and off-road adventures.

To add to the excitement, Royal Enfield has also made some tweaks to the hardware. The braking system now features a larger piston front calliper (30/32mm), along with switchable ABS that can be easily activated directly from the switch cube.

Apart from these updates, the new Scram closely follows the design of its predecessor, the Scram 411, with the signature round headlamp (now LED unit). It features a large fuel tank with side-mounted 440 decals, paying homage to the old Scram 411. The bike also boasts a single-piece seat, slightly raised for the pillion, ensuring added comfort and completing its overall look. Other features include circular semi-digital instrument cluster, 41mm telescopic front forks, monoshock, front (300mm) and rear (240mm) discs, circular ORVMs, knuckle guards, and halogen turn indicators. The Scram 440 comes in five colours: Force Blue, Force Grey, Force Teal, Trail Green, Trail Blue.
