The next-generation KTM 390 Adventure will debut next month at EICMA. While nothing is official just yet, leaks suggest that the model in question will not compromise on features. The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure will get cornering ABS, traction control, and a TFT display, depending on the variant. Speaking of, the new adventure bike will come in two variants – X and R. Going by the leaked image, the off-road-focused R variant will offer an H50 TFT dash, probably with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The main frame will be a trellis unit, suspended by an upside-down front fork and an off-set rear monoshock. KTM will unveil this bike with adjustable suspension (with 230mm wheel travel), unlike the road-biased X variant.
The new 390 Adventure R will sit on a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheel wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. The seat height, at a towering 885mm, might be a touch high for some riders in India. The most recent set of spy shots confirms the presence of cruise control, making the first bike in its class to feature the same.

Showcased a week ago, the camouflaged, new-gen KTM 390 Adventure R reveals a tall visor, vertically stacked headlamps, a sculpted fuel tank, a high-mounted beak-like fender, and a sleek tail section. Expected bits include R-specific colours/graphics and fresh colour options.
New KTM 390 Adventure X: Leaked Details
The leaked image further reveals that the X will have a lower seat height of 825mm, the same as the Himalayan 450. Though the road-oriented model will have the same chassis and body panels as the R, it will feature non-adjustable suspension with 200mm wheel travel. It will run on 19/17-inch alloy wheels and be offered with an LCD dash and non-cornering ABS.
New KTM 390 Adventure: Powertrain
The next-generation KTM 390 Adventure will likely draw power from the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that does duty in the 2024 KTM 390 Duke. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, this engine in the 390 Duke makes 45bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Expect the new KTM 390 Adventure to use the engine with a slightly different state-of-tune.

We expect KTM to price its upcoming 390 Adventure in the Rs 3.50 lakh–Rs 3.70 lakh ballpark. Upon launch, the flagship ADV will go against the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the BMW G 310 GS, the Yezdi Adventure, and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
