New KTM 390 Adventure R Leaked Ahead of EICMA Debut
The upcoming KTM 390 Adventure R will get a 21/18-inch wheel setup, adjustable WP suspension, an 885mm seat height, and a TFT display.
Leaked a few days ago were the specifications of the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure lineup, which will debut at the 2024 EICMA Motor Show in Milan. Now, the image of the off-road-focused 390 Adventure R has surfaced online, revealing the bike in all its glory. The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R's design, similar to other KTM adventure bikes, looks new and purposeful. The bike has a tall stance and an upright front fairing like a Dakar bike. The front also features vertically stacked LED headlamps, a horseshoe-shaped LED daytime running lamp, and a tall visor. Twin auxiliary lights sit below the headlamp cluster. Other noticeable bits include a muscular-looking fuel tank (with sharp extensions), a single-piece seat setup, a high-mounted beak-like fender, a metal sump guard, and orange-coloured knuckle guards. Speaking of, the new 390 Adventure R gets an orange-white-black colour scheme, similar to the one found on the 890 Adventure R.

New KTM 390 Adventure R: Seat Height, Suspension, Brakes
According to previously leaked images, the R variant will come with a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheel wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. The bike will have a towering 885mm seat height, making it a little less approachable for some riders in India. It will employ a steel trellis frame, suspended by an adjustable upside-down fork and an offset monoshock. Stopping power will come from a disc brake at both ends.
New KTM 390 Adventure R: Engine
The next-generation KTM 390 Adventure lineup – the X and the R – is expected to draw power from the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that does duty in the 2024 KTM 390 Duke. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, this engine in the 390 Duke makes 45bhp at 8,500rpm and 39Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Expect the new KTM 390 Adventure to use the engine with a slightly different state-of-tune.
New KTM 390 Adventure R: Features
Features-wise, the 390 Adventure R will be available with a TFT display, likely with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. It will be the first bike in its class to get a cruise control feature.
