Indian Motorcycle, the iconic American motorcycle maker, has confirmed that its new-generation Scout will make its international debut on April 2, 2024. Popular amongst riders across the globe, the Indian Scout has also been teased by the manufacturer ahead of its unveiling. A teaser video released by Indian Motorcycle suggests that the new Indian Scout will take design cues from the original model while infusing modern elements. For your reference, the original Indian Scout had a low-slung design with wide handlebars, a low seat height, twin-barrel exhausts, and blacked-out wheels.
Dating back to 1920, the original Indian Scout was one of the best-selling motorcycles from the American brand. It first featured a 610cc, V-Twin, air-cooled engine paired with a three-speed gearbox. Fast forward to the present day, the upcoming Indian Scout will likely come powered by the same 1,133 cc V-Twin, liquid-cooled engine as the outgoing model. However, expect some tweaks to the motor.
Indian Motorcycle launched the Scout motorcycle in the domestic market in 2014. It is the second model from the company after the Indian Chief lineup (Chief Classic, Chief Vintage, and Chieftain). The Indian Scout – which comes in four variants in India – carries a starting price of Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
