Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will pull the wraps off its new commuter motorcycle on the 2nd of August 2023 for the Indian market. It is widely speculated that the upcoming bike could be placed in the 150-180cc segment of the market, and Honda is expected to introduce it under the existing brand name as it did with its 100cc commuter motorcycle – the Shine. However, there is no official word on the same. 162.7cc and 184.4cc engines are available on sale in the country, with the Honda Unicorn 160 offering the former and the CB Hornet 2.0 the latter.
The Honda Unicorn 160's single-cylinder, air-cooled engine cranks out 13bhp and 14Nm of peak torque, whereas the 184.4cc engine on the Hornet delivers 17bhp and 16Nm of torque. It is anticipated that the new product from the stable of Honda could dish out similar power and torque figures as the Unicorn and the Hornet.

Besides, a Honda ACG starter, increased tumble flow, improved combustion & reduced friction, and solenoid valves enhance the engine’s performance. As a result, the power and torque figures are rated at 8.16bhp at 6,250rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,000rpm, respectively. For handling transmission, the engine comes mated to a CVT unit, which sends all the power to the rear wheel.
