New BMW R 1300 RT Spotted Testing Overseas with Design Upgrades

The new BMW R 1300 RT has been spotted testing overseas with a host of cosmetic updates. It will have a 1300cc boxer twin-engine that could produce 145bhp and 140Nm of performance numbers.

The new BMW R 1300 RT has been spotted undergoing testing overseas in its prototype stage. The upcoming bike, a replacement to the R 1250 RT, seems to sport a revised front profile in recent spy pictures. It has a thinner and more gently angled transparent visor, relocated rearview mirrors, and vertically oriented LED headlights complemented by daytime running lights (DRLs). The side fairing is different from the previous model overall, although it still has the RT's signature thickness. As seen in the images, the R 1300 RT is fitted with panniers and a top case, which highlights its touring capabilities. For more details, read on.

New BMW R 1300 RT: Engine

The new R 1300 RT will have a 1300cc boxer twin-engine that could produce 145bhp and 140Nm of performance numbers. It will have a six-speed gearbox and a shaft drive system. As previously reported, BMW is developing an automatic transmission. Although no formal announcement has been made, the R 1300 RT could be one of the bikes to receive that gearbox as an option. 

New BMW R 1300 RT: Features and Other Highlights

In terms of features, the new BMW bike is expected to include a bigger TFT with a smartphone connection, traction control, several ride modes (including custom), and ABS modes. While BMW is yet to make an announcement, the R 1300 RT is expected to be unveiled sometime around next year. As of now,  there are no official reports on the bike's launch in India.

BMW India Upcoming Launches

In the two-wheeler section, BMW is set to introduce the CE 04 electric scooter in India on July 24, 2024. According to BMW, the CE 04 will revolutionise urban transportation by fusing state-of-the-art technology with eco-friendly performance. It looks futuristic and provides an enjoyable riding experience that is perfect for urban settings. The EV is powered by a 15kW permanent magnet, liquid-cooled synchronous electric motor. It generates 41.4bhp of maximum power at 4,900rpm and 61Nm of peak torque at 1,500rpm. It has a top speed limit of 120km/h and a 0-50km/h acceleration time of 2.6 seconds.
