Although it is based on the Brutale Dragster 800 RR, it is unlike any other MV Agusta we have seen
MV Agusta sure knows how to make motorcycles drop-dead gorgeous – just look at any of the models designed by Massimo Tamburini. And to the delight of fans and enthusiasts, they continue with the benchmark set by the legend. The latest example to wear the MV Agusta badge is no different. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the stunning limited-edition MV Agusta RVS#1.
MV Agusta gave us a sneak peak of this motorcycle last month. This is MV Agusta’s Reparto Veicoli Speciali (RVS) (Italian for special vehicle operations) division’s first ever offering, hence the name RVS#1. While the Italian superbike maker hasn’t shed much light on the role of RVS but if the RVS#1 is anything to go by, it will develop limited-edition offerings that are based on their regular models.
Based on the Brutale Dragster 800 RR, the RVS#1 is powered by an 803cc three-pot motor that churns out 148 horses of power making it the most powerful 800cc offering from MV Agusta. The standard Brutale Dragster 800 RR makes 138bhp. Aside from the additional power, MV Agusta has also improved performance by restricting its weight to just 160kg.
Although it has been heavily modified, the RVS#1 has some design elements which give out that it is based on a Brutale – notice the floating seat and the round headlights. Talking about the headlights, the ones fitted on the RVS#1 are adaptive, which means its various elements get lit depending on the speed and lean of the motorcycle. This allows the right amount of illumination and at the right places. MV Agusta will make only 95 units of the RVS#1. While the design is nothing like any of the other MV Agusta models, if you want yours to be a bit more exclusive, customisation options will also be made available.
