Over 1000+ racers from 8 cities in India will be competing for a golden opportunity to get trained at the KTM headquarters in Austria.
KTM India is bringing the RC Cup to the country soon! The event will take place in eight Indian cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, & Kolkata, and will allow amateur racers to compete against the best while also learning from the experts, claims KTM. The company has announced that the upcoming racing tournament will be held between January and March 2023.
Over a thousand racers are expected to compete in the regional qualifiers. A chosen group of city winners will then fight for the national title at Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) in Chennai, India. The top three KTM RC Cup winners will receive a trip to KTM's global headquarters in Austria, and will also get to interact with riders from the KTM Racing Factory, an opportunity to visit Motohall at Mattighofen in Austria and learn racing from KTM's seasoned professionals as well as to watch a MotoGP race live.
Jeremy Mcwilliams, the legendary ex-MotoGP racer who has two podium finishes in the 500cc class & a victory in the 250cc class to his name, will oversee the operations. Also, Emmanuel Jebaraj, who happens to be a seven-time National INMRC Champion and the founder of Gusto Racing, India, will be managing the India operations from close quarters.
Speaking at IBW 2022, Mr. Sumeet Narang, President (Probiking) at Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, “Racing is core to KTM’s DNA and with RC cup we would be launching the biggest amateur racing platform in India yet. We look forward to the best of racing talent competing here and get a chance to be trained by the best from KTM. The fan reaction at IBW has been very heartening and come January, we look forward to getting all KTM fans Ready to Race.”
