KTM has launched 10 motorcycles in India across different segments, after a lot of speculation. To satisfy the needs of off-roading aficionados, Team Orange has added the 1290 Super Adventure S and 890 Adventure R to its Indian roster of large ADVs. Talking specifically about the 890 Adventure R, the bike competes with the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE, BMW F 900 GS, and Ducati DesertX. It carries a price tag of Rs 15.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets Dakar racing motorcycle-inspired (450 Rally) design, complemented by a strong build, orange and white paint job, and rising stance. KTM 890 Adventure R: Engine
The 890 Adventure R is propelled by the same 889cc parallel twin engine as the 890 Duke R. In contrast to the naked machine's 121bhp and 99Nm, the unit generates 103.2bhp and 100Nm on the ADV. It gets a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and a quickshifter.

KTM 890 Adventure R: Hardware and Features
The middleweight ADV is supported by an adjustable WP Apex monoshock and WP Apex 43mm front USD forks. It has 320mm front disc and 260mm rear disc brakes. The bike is equipped with wire-spoke wheels (21-inch front and 18-inch rear) and dual-purpose tyres. Features-wise, the 890 Adventure R has different ride modes, switchable ABS with an off-road mode, cruise control, traction control, and a 5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation.

In the ADV segment, KTM has also introduced the 1290 Super Adventure S for Rs 22.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This bike packs a 1301cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine with 158bhp and 138Nm. It is paired with a six-speed transmission, a bi-directional quickshifter, and a slipper clutch. The newly launched 1290 Super Adventure S locks horns with the BMW R 1300 GS, the Triumph Tiger 1200 series, and the Ducati Multistrada V4.
