Discounts in light of the upcoming BS IV mandate to come into effect from 1st April
Over the last few months, there have been several announcements of motorcycle manufacturers launching updated version of their products to bring them in line with the upcoming BS IV mandate. With the new emission regulation restricting the sale of BS III compliant products from 1st April, Kawasaki is offering heavy discounts on the Z250, ER-6n and the Ninja 650 to clear existing stock.
Certain Kawasaki dealers are offering discounts of over Rs 50,000 on the Z250, around Rs 1lakh on the ER-6n and Ninja 650. The Z250, ER-6n and the Ninja 650 are priced at Rs 3.6 lakh, Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 5.8 lakh respectively. All prices on-road Mumbai. Following the heavy discounts, the three should retail at approximately Rs 3 lakh, Rs 4.5 lakh and Rs 4.9 lakh respectively. Interested buyers can pay a minimum booking amount of Rs 1 lakh to avail the offer.
The Kawasaki Z250 comes with the same motor that powered the discontinued Ninja 250R. The parallel-twin motor is good for 31.5bhp and 21Nm. The ER-6n and the Ninja 650 on the other hand, are plonked with a 649cc parallel-twin motor that churn out 71bhp and 64Nm.
Both these motorcycles are more than a few years old and aren’t loaded in terms of tech in comparison to some of the newer offerings. In fact, the ER-6n as well as the Ninja 650, don’t come fitted with ABS either. That being said, considering that most quarter litre offerings are retailing around the Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh mark, the current deals on the ER-6n and the Ninja 650 might just be tempting for a lot of motorcycling enthusiasts. These offers are valid until the end of the month only.
