Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX: Mechanical Details
The new Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX’s most significant update is its upgrade to a 1099cc engine, replacing the previous 1,043cc unit. This boost in displacement is achieved with a slightly longer stroke, now at 77mm x 59mm, compared to the previous 77mm x 56mm.
Despite the larger engine, power has decreased by 4bhp, bringing it down to 135bhp, while torque increases by 2Nm to a total of 113Nm. More importantly, the peak power and torque now arrive at lower revs, which should lead to smoother, more effortless performance. Additionally, Kawasaki has extended the gearing in 5th and 6th gears for a more comfortable touring experience. Other upgrades include an enhanced bi-directional quickshifter for improved low-rpm performance, better fuel efficiency, and a switch from Bridgestone S22 to the newer S23 tyres.
The soon-to-be-launched Ninja 1100SX keeps most of its bodywork and frame design from the earlier model. It still uses USD forks, but the rear monoshock is now an adjustable Ohlins S3 unit, and the rear disc rotor is larger than before. Other features like device charging ports, a TFT display with phone connectivity, ABS, 17-inch wheels shod with Bridgestone Battlax S23 tyres, cruise control, ride modes, and traction control remain unchanged.

The new Ninja 1100SX is anticipated to debut in our market in the coming weeks, likely carrying a price increase of Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh over the previous model. The outgoing version had a price tag of Rs 12.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Initially, only the standard Ninja 1100SX will be launched, with the more premium SE variant – featuring Brembo M4.32 front brakes and an Ohlins rear shock – seemingly not part of the initial offering.
Although the Japanese bikemaker has yet to announce the official price for the Ninja 1100SX, some dealerships have already started accepting pre-orders for the bike.
