Kawasaki, the Japanese bikemaker, has launched the new KLX230RS in the Indian market. It is a track-only motorcycle with a price tag of Rs 5.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The dirt bike goes on sale in the country via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route, thus the high sticker price. Being an off-roader, the KLX230RS is deprived of road-legal credentials, such as a headlight, turn indicators, rear-view mirrors, and a taillight. Instead, the bike comes with sleek bodywork and features fork gaiters, an upswept tail panel, a tall-set front fender, and an exhaust canister.
Furthermore, the bike from the stable of Kawasaki offers wire-spoked wheels, measuring 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. These wheels come wrapped in tube-type tyres for off-road use. In terms of dimensions, the motorcycle comes with a seat height of 900mm and a long wheelbase of 1,350mm. Besides, it offers 275mm of ground clearance.

Kawasaki KLX230RS: Hardware
The Kawasaki KLX230RS is suspended with the help of a 37mm telescopic fork at the front and a Uni Trak mono-shock at the rear, both offering a long-travel rating. As a result, the bike is claimed to provide riding comfort and control on rugged terrain. The braking hardware of the bike consists of petal-type disc brakes on both ends. The motorcycle is underpinned by a tubular semi-double-cradle frame.
Kawasaki KLX230RS: Engine and Gearbox
At its heart is a 233cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 19.57bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 20.6Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. For handling transmission, the engine comes mated to a 6-speed unit.
The Kawasaki KLX230RS tips the scale at 115 kilograms. With the absence of a headlight, mirrors, saree guard, etc., it is obvious that this motorcycle cannot be registered for the road.
