The KLX 140G is the second product in its range, subsequent to the launch of the KLX 110 last year
Off-road enthusiasts rejoice as Kawasaki further expands its product portfolio with the launch of the KLX 140G. Brought to India via the CBU route from Thailand, the motorcycle has been priced at Rs 3.91 lakh (ex-showroom). Kawasaki introduced the KLX range of off-road motorcycles in India with the launch of the KLX 110 last year.
A quick glance at the KLX 140G is enough to decipher that the bike has been built purely for off-road purposes. The minimalistic bodywork, the knobby tyres and the high ground clearance, all characteristics that make a true off-road motorcycle. Not to mention, the long travel suspension and the overall ergonomics, that help make the off-road experience that much more enjoyable. The KLX 140G is powered by a 144cc four-stroke single-pot unit that comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Suspension duties are performed by 33mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock setup at the back with fully adjustable preload and 22-way rebound damping. As you’d expect from a hardcore off-road offering, the front wheel is larger than the one at the back, in this case, 21-inch and 18-inch respectively. At 861mm, the seat height too is high. The bike tips the scale at just 99kg. With the absence of a headlight, saree guard and mirrors, it is somewhat obvious that the KLX 140 cannot be registered for the road.
Kawasaki also launched the KLX 110 in India last year. On its launch, it was priced at Rs 2.65 lakh. Aside from the KLX series, Kawasaki also sells the two-stroke KX100 and the four-stroke KX250F that Kawasaki introduced last month.
