Last month, Jawa made a comeback with three new motorcycles - the Jawa, 42 and the Perak. While the bookings for the Jawa and 42 commenced on November 15, the Perak will go on sale at a later date. It has been just over a month since bookings started and both the motorcycles have already been sold out till September 2019. In fact, the company is about to temporarily stop accepting online bookings starting midnight on 25th December. That being said, Jawa hasn’t revealed the number of units booked or even when the bookings will commence again.
Jawa claims that they are planning to ramp up production at the Pithampur. At a dealership level, bookings of both motorcycles will continue but deliveries will only be made as per the booking sequence.
As far as the motorcycle is concerned, the Jawa, as well as the 42, are powered by the same 293cc single-cylinder fuel injected motor that pushes out 27bhp and 28Nm. Jawa claims that both these motorcycles are BSVI ready.
As far as dealerships go, Jawa has already set up 10 dealerships and they aim at raising the number to 100 by mid-February. Deliveries of the Jawa offerings are expected to begin in March 2019.
