Pre-launch bookings for the 2022 Indian Chief model line-up are open across the country at ₹3 lakh.
Last month, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Indian Chief, one of the most historic and influential models in the Indian Motorcycle line-up, the American marque had revealed the 2022 Chief model line-up with three new reimagined models – the Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and Super Chief Limited.
Today, Indian Motorcycle has announced that its 2022 Chief line-up will be launched in India in Q2 2021, with prices starting from ₹20.76 lakh (ex-showroom). Model-wise prices will be revealed at the time of launch. In the meantime, pre-launch bookings have begun at ₹3 lakh.
Powering all three 2022 Chief models is Indian Motorcycle's 1,890cc Thunderstroke 116 air-cooled V-twin engine (with cylinder deactivation tech), which offers 162Nm of peak torque. All three bikes come with ABS and the brand's Ride Command system as standard. The latter offers two different gauge configurations, bike & ride information, turn-by-turn navigation, and Bluetooth phone connectivity – all of this can be managed via grip controls or a 4-inch touchscreen display. Other standard features include all-LED lighting, cruise control, three selectable ride modes, keyless ignition, and a USB charging port.
Visually, the 2022 Chief and Chief Bobber Dark Horse sport gloss-black finishes, while the Super Chief Limited has a premium chrome finish.
Commenting on the price announcement, Mr Lalit Sharma, Country Manager, Polaris India Pvt Ltd, said, 'Our Chief line-up has a glorified history and is one of the iconic motorcycles of the Indian Motorcycle portfolio. We are launching this model to pay tribute to the Indian Chief on completing 100 years in the market. We have priced the new Chief line-up keeping in mind the love of our customers for the model. We are looking forward to making history again for our new Chief line-up in the market.'
