Husqvarna has released a teaser video of its new Vitpilen 801. It took to Meta's Instagram platform to give us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming Vitpilen 801, which will debut globally in a production-spec guise on October 2, 2024. This will be Husqvarna's second model to be based on the KTM 790 Duke platform after the 2024 Svartpilen 801. The latter made its global debut in March 2024, taking the place of the single-cylinder Svartpilen 701.

Coming back to the Vitpilen 801, the model is expected to follow a cafe racer-like design while sharing some elements with its sibling, the Svartpilen 801. The teaser video reveals a new LED projector headlamp with an oval-shaped LED daytime running lamp around it. The tank extensions are quite sharp, while the side panels and the tail section appear to be influenced by the Svartpilen 801. Also, we expect the upcoming bike to feature lower handlebars and a lower-set headlamp compared to its sibling.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 801: Powertrain

Built on the KTM 790 Duke platform, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 will get the same 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine as the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 801. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine develops 103.5bhp at 9,250rpm and 87Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm in the Svartpilen 801.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 801: Hardware

The Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 will likely employ a tubular chassis, suspended by upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock, both adjustable WP units. While the Svartpilen 801 comes with dual-purpose Pirelli MT60RS rubber wrapped around 17-inch wheels, we expect the Vitpilen 801 to offer more street-focused tyres.

Other expected bits include all-LED lighting, traction control, cornering ABS, ride modes, a quickshifter, and a 5.0-inch TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation. While yet to be made official, the chances of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 arriving on the Indian market seem slim.
