Husqvarna is set to pull the wraps off the Svartpilen 801 for the global market on March 19, i.e., tomorrow. The Swedish manufacturer teased the new middleweight bike earlier this month, providing prospective purchasers a preview of its appearance. The prototype resembled the Svartpilen 401, with integrated tank shrouds, a circular LED headlight with an integrated DRL ring, an upswept exhaust muffler, a single-piece tubular handlebar, a chopped-off tail part, and dual-purpose tyres. In addition, the teaser revealed a headlight grille, a flyscreen, and a bash plate, which have not yet been confirmed as standard or optional features. As of now, the Swedish manufacturer has no plans to release the Svartpilen 801 in India soon. It only provides the Svartpilen 401 here, which retails for Rs 2.92 lakh (ex-showroom). Husqvarna Svartpilen 801: Engine and Hardware
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 is expected to be based on the KTM 790 Duke, with a 799cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing 103.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 87Nm at 8,000rpm. This unit includes a six-speed transmission and a bidirectional quickshifter. The same tubular chassis as the Austrian bike will most likely be found on the upcoming Svartpilen 801. Its suspension components may include a rear monoshock and upside-down front forks from WP-Apex. The new middleweight two-wheeler from Husqvarna is likely to come with single-disc brakes on both ends, as well as dual-channel ABS. Furthermore, the bike is expected to feature a distinctive alloy wheel design with five spokes and multipurpose rubber tyres.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 801: Features
The Swedish automaker hasn't disclosed any specifics, but the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 is anticipated to have a long list of impressive features, like Bluetooth connectivity, a bi-directional quickshifter, a TFT dash with a Husqvarna-specific graphic, and a variety of electronic rider aids like cruise control, traction control, switchable rear ABS, ride modes, and more.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 801: India Launch
At this time, KTM does not provide any multi-cylinder, large-capacity models for sale in India, nor does it have any plans to do so in future. Given that the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 is built on the large-capacity KTM 790 Duke, as previously mentioned, it is unlikely to be sold in our market. However, as the bike is set to be unveiled tomorrow, Indian bike fans can stay tuned with us for more information.
