With the Svartpilen and Vitpilen, two 250cc twins, Husqvarna made its debut in India at the beginning of 2020. Despite positive first impressions for both motorcycles, nearly four years later, the Swedish bike manufacturer hasn't exactly dominated the market with its sales figures. This could be a result of the company's limited national reach and lack of offerings. However, it appears that one of those problems is currently being addressed by the brand. According to a recent media report, the bikemaker would soon roll out the Svartpilen 401 in the domestic market. The upcoming model is anticipated to be released in January next year, as per the industry report. Meanwhile, let's take a quick look at what the new Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 might have in store for Indian bike enthusiasts.

The report also claims that certain dealers have begun accepting reservations in advance for the same at a nominal fee of Rs 5,000. In global markets, the Svartpilen 401 and its sibling, the Vitpilen 401, have been available for purchase for some time now, therefore it is not a brand-new bike. Nevertheless, even though the bike has been manufactured in our country, it never made its way to the Indian market before. For those who are unaware, Bajaj Auto produces the Svartpilen and the Vitpilen at its plant in Chakan. Since Husqvarna is a sister brand of KTM and is owned by Pierer Mobility, the two-wheeler behemoth in India is in charge of its operations.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401: Styling

The 2024 iteration of the Husqvarna 401 will have a robust bodywork with a split seat, a single-piece grab-rail, a muscular fuel tank with edges that protrude from the top, black alloy wheels, and a circular LED headlight, as seen on the spotted test mules. The new motorcycle is probably going to have an underbelly exhaust, unlike the 2023 variant that was sold abroad.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401: Feature Set

On the feature front, the Svartpilen 401 from Husqvarna will be equipped with a digital console—likely an LCD rather than a TFT—as well as full LED illumination, dual-channel ABS, and a side stand sensor. This will enable the bike manufacturer to put an affordable price tag on the offering. Furthermore, smartphone connectivity will probably be lacking as well. To further enhance convenience, ride-by-wire might also be introduced to the Svartpilen 401.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401: Hardware Details

Coming to the hardware, USD front forks and an offset monoshock are standard on the Svartpilen, as indicated by the test mule. Front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS will be part of its brake system. These are going to be mounted on 17-inch wheels. However, it is unknown at this time if Husqvarna will ship the motorcycle with spoke wheels or alloy wheels as standard. Being a scrambler, it is likely to come with spoke wheels covered in block pattern tyres.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401: Engine Specs

In terms of the engine details, Husqvarna is anticipated to provide the new 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that is taken from the KTM Duke 390. This motor produces a peak torque of 39Nm and 45bhp of maximum power when combined with a six-speed gearbox. The KTM new-generation streetfighter's ride-by-wire technology and variety of riding modes might also be borrowed by the Svartpilen 401.
