In April 2023, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched the updated version of the SP125, which is available in two versions – drum and disc. The drum variant stands at Rs 85,131, while the disc variant is priced at Rs 89,131. All prices are ex-showroom. Now, Honda has introduced the Sports Edition of the SP125 in the country. And barring the bolder graphic schemes, a matte-finished exhaust muffler, and two new colour options that it gets, the Sports Edition looks identical to the standard version. The Honda SP125 Sports Edition is based on the disc brake variant of the standard motorcycle and is priced slightly more than the latter at Rs 90,567 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for the new bike are now underway, and it will go on sale at all Honda Red Wing dealerships across the country for a limited period.

On the aesthetic front, the limited edition gets a sporty touch with new graphics, along with updated reflective side stripes for the wheels. Among other updates, the motorcycle features a new muffler cover finished in a matte paint scheme, rather than the chrome muffler as found on the standard version. The company is offering the Sports Edition with a choice of two colours –Decent Blue Metallic and Heavy Grey Metallic.
Honda SP125 Sports Edition: Features
On the feature front, the Honda SP125 Sports Edition gets an LED headlamp, fuel tank shrouds, a side-slung exhaust, an LED taillamp, a digital instrument cluster displaying fuel efficiency details, an ECO indicator, a gear position indicator, etc. Other bits include an engine start/stop switch, a combined braking system, a piston cooling jet, and a side stand cut-off.
Honda SP125 Sports Edition: Engine
The Sports Edition continues to be powered by a 123.94cc PGM-FI (Programmed Fuel Injection) engine that is supported by Enhanced Smart Power (eSP). Apart from the eSP technology, Honda's engine gets a silent starter/generator for a silent starting procedure. All this helps maximise fuel efficiency and reduce friction. The updated air-cooled engine develops 107.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 10.9Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The mill is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Moreover, the brand is also offering a special 10-year warranty package with this special edition (3-year standard and 7-year optional).
Honda SP125 Sports Edition: Hardware
In terms of suspension, the motorcycle features telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic shockers at the back with 5-step adjustability. Braking duties are performed by a 240mm disc in the front, while there is a 130mm drum brake at the back. The bike rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres.
The 125cc bike from Honda stable locks horns with the likes of the Hero Glamour, Hero Super Splendor, the Honda Shine, the Bajaj Pulsar NS125, and the TVS Raider.
