The all-new Honda Shine 100 commuter motorcycle has arrived in India. It is Honda's first 100cc motorcycle in the country, and it will be aimed at rural and semi-urban markets. The introductory price starts at Rs. 64,900 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The motorcycle's production will begin this month, and it will be available in Honda dealerships by May 2023. Honda has begun taking reservations for the Shine 100 as of currently. Of all motorcycle sales in India, the 100cc segment accounts for 33 per cent of the market. Hero MotoCorp, thanks to its Splendor line of motorcycles, consumes a significant portion of this 33 per cent. About 2.5 lakh units of the Splendor are sold each month. Honda has not participated in this market segment, which excludes it from competition in one-third of the motorcycle market. Honda plans to compete with Splendor with the launch of the new motorcycle. Additionally, the bikemaker is providing a special 6-year warranty package for the Shine 100 (3 years standard + 3 years optional extended warranty).
