Honda NPF 125 Scooter Design Patent Filed in India; Launch Soon?

Honda has sparked excitement in the Indian two-wheeler market by filing a design patent for its upcoming NPF 125 scooter. While official announcements are still awaited, the patent filing has led to speculations about a potential launch in the near future. The NPF 125 is expected to blend Honda's signature reliability with modern design elements, making it an appealing option for urban commuters. Given the growing popularity of premium scooters in India, this model could tap into the demand for stylish, efficient, and technologically advanced two-wheelers. With the patent now in place, enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further details and the official launch timeline of the Honda NPF 125.
Honda NPF 125: Design, Engine, and Features
The Honda NPF is already available in global markets with a range of paint jobs: White, Grey, Black, Blue, and Silver. Designed with a sporty and aggressive appeal, the NPF 125 is characterised by sharp, angular design elements. The front apron is fitted with a dual-section LED headlamp, with turn indicators positioned slightly lower for a sleek finish. The rear profile maintains a sharp and contemporary look, complemented by a robust grab rail.

The scooter measures 1,851mm in length, 683mm in width, and 1,103mm in height. It sports a seat with a length of 660mm and a height of 755mm. The ground clearance is set at 134mm, while the under-seat storage compartment provides a capacity of 14.3 litres.
Moving on to the mechanical side of things, the Honda NPF 125 features a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 9.38bhp of maximum power at 7,750rpm and 10Nm of peak torque at 5,750rpm. The model delivers an efficient fuel economy of about 50km/l and can reach a top speed of 90km/h, with a 5.7-litre fuel tank offering a range of approximately 300 km.
As far as the hardware setup is concerned, braking is managed by a front disc and a rear drum, with additional safety provided by an Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a Combi-braking system (CBS). The scooter rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels, equipped with tubeless tyres sized 90/90 and 100/90, respectively.
In terms of features, the NPF 125 is expected to offer a USB charger, LED lighting, keyless ignition, eSP technology, an LCD instrument cluster, and a convenient smart key system enabling effortless ignition and seat unlocking.
