After creating some buzz in the premium segment of motorcycles with its Honda CB500X, the Japanese motorcycle maker is likely to focus on the more affordable 200cc segment in India.
Honda India has filed a patent for the CRF190L adventure motorcycle which makes us believe that Honda Two-Wheelers may consider launching the affordable ADV in India. Currently, Honda has the CB200X on sale, however, truth be told, the motorcycle is essentially a semi faired and slightly jacked-up Honda Hornet 2.0.
With the CRF190L, Honda may be venturing into the more capable off-roader segment, however, with a budget.
The CRF190L gets the same 186cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which is offered in the CB200X. The power output is marked at 17bhp at 8,500 rpm and 16.1Nm at 6,000 rpm which is very similar to what the Honda CB200X’s state of tune. The gearbox is a five-speed unit.
The CRF190L gets conventional telescopic forks in the front and a mono-shock in the rear. The tyre sizes are 19-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) and the wheels are spoke-wire units, which are more robust and durable for off-road purposes.
The Honda CRF190L is likely to be priced close to Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark which will make it more expensive when compared to the Hero Xpulse 200 4V; which is priced at Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
