Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today inaugurated a Traffic Park in Chandigarh to spread awareness on safe and responsible two-wheeler riding habits.
Today, HMSI inaugurated the renovated Children Traffic Park at Sector-23, Chandigarh in association with the Chandigarh Traffic Police. This is the first traffic park inaugurated by Honda in the states of Haryana and Punjab.
Honda will try to teach the basics in road safety by simulating the real-life road situations in an organised environment. Honda experts will also highlight the importance of correct riding posture, traffic signs, techniques and rules. A virtual riding simulator will help people above 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible situations on road before actual riding on road. This virtual experience is aimed at increasing their ability to predict and react to traffic hazards.
The program will be aimed at teaching the basics to women and kids specifically. Honda is teaching kids these important learnings as kids form the effective ambassadors of road safety in a family. For the same reason, has brought in the imported CRF 50 motorcycles to teach the kids from 9-12 years of age group to grasp safe riding concept through the exciting practical riding.
Commenting on the new venture, Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria, Vice president – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Honda observed that large number of females want to learn riding in a safe and organized set-up so that they can ultimately become independent. For instance, over 2000 females learnt safe two-wheeler riding within 22 days in Delhi. Children too are very enthusiastic learners and effective ambassadors of road safety in their family. Taking this learning further, Honda will provide a Lifetime Safety Education to all age-groups in Chandigarh with a special focus on women and children.”
