Honda has sparked excitement in the Indian motorcycling community by filing a design patent for the CB190TR, hinting at a possible launch in the near future. This neo-retro-styled roadster, which is already available in select international markets, blends classic aesthetics with modern engineering. Featuring a minimalistic design, the CB190TR boasts a sleek fuel tank, round LED headlamp, upright handlebars, and dual-purpose tyres, making it an appealing option for both city commutes and light off-road adventures. Both motorcycles feature a 12-litre fuel tank, but their designs cater to different styles. The CB190TR's neo-retro aesthetic is underscored by circular designs across elements such as the headlamp, turn signals, and instrument cluster. Other design highlights include a flat single-piece seat, and a distinctive exhaust muffler, with its styling influenced by the CB300R. Additionally, the inclusion of alloy wheels ensures compatibility with tubeless tyres.
Coming to the mechanical side of the things, the CB190TR is expected to be powered by the same 184cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine as the Hornet 2.0, delivering 16.7bhp of maximum power and 15.9Nm of peak torque. This engine will be paired with a five-speed gearbox and a slipper assist clutch.
Upon its launch, the Honda CB190TR will take on the likes of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin in India’s growing retro-modern motorcycle segment.
