Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India is set to unveil its upcoming Activa Electric on November 27, 2024. While yet to be confirmed, we expect the model in question to launch sometime next year in India, with a price in the range of Rs 1 lakh–Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The official unveiling is still some time away, but the company has started its teaser campaign revealing the scooter's headlight design. According to the teaser, the Activa Electric has an apron-mounted bar-type LED headlamp similar to the CUV e: showcased at EICMA 2024. The overall styling of the electric version of the Activa is expected to be a mix between the Honda CUV e: and the ICE (internal combustion engine) Activa. Also, there will likely be no compromise on features. Like the CUV e: the Activa Electric could get a TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.

Honda Activa Electric: Battery
Honda is cagey about the specifics of the Activa Electric. But, the scooter is believed to pack dual 1.3kWh batteries just like the CUV e:, which offers a combined range of over 70km (claimed) and takes 3 hours to charge from 0 to 70 per cent. The batteries are swappable and can be charged anywhere. There is also a possibility that Honda may equip the two-wheeler with a fixed battery pack, as it had earlier revealed its plans to launch two electric scooters in India – one with a fixed battery and the other with a swappable unit.

Honda Activa Electric: Performance
Besides, rumour has it that the electrified Activa will offer performance equivalent to the 110cc Activa, which is currently the best-selling scooter in the ICE space. The Activa 110 uses a 109.51cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with 7.68bhp and 8.79Nm of torque, for your reference. The engine is mated to a CVT. We expect the Activa Electric to feature a hub motor powering the rear wheel.
Honda Activa Electric: Suspension, Brakes
The Activa Electric will likely ride on a dedicated platform, internally codenamed Platform 'E'. The new platform will be the basis for different products with varying battery architecture and installation. The electric scooter will most likely use a telescopic fork and twin shocks to handle suspension duties, while the stopping power should come from a 190mm disc at the front and a 110mm disc brake at the rear.
