We already know that Honda 2Wheelers India is set to unveil its new Activa electric scooter in less than two weeks. Now, the company has teased the scooter again on its social media platforms before the imminent debut. The latest teaser shows the electric motor appearing similar to the one mounted on the CUV e: electric scooter, hinting that the Activa Electric may share its mechanicals with the CUV e:. For those unaware, the CUV e: was showcased at the recently held EICMA trade show in Milan. It is based on Honda’s SC e concept and comes with an 8bhp electric motor and twin 1.3kWh swappable battery battery packs with a combined range of over 70km (claimed). Honda says each battery takes 3 hours to charge from 0 to 70 per cent.

There is also a possibility that Honda may go with a fixed battery pack, as it had earlier revealed its plans to launch two electric scooters in India – one with a fixed battery and the other with a swappable unit. Rumour has it that the electrified Activa will offer performance equivalent to the 110cc Activa, currently the best-selling scooter in the ICE space.

Honda Activa Electric: Suspension
The teaser also shows the electric scooter featuring a monoshock for suspension duties. The front end will most likely feature a conventional telescopic fork setup, while the stopping power should come from a disc at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Honda Activa Electric: Styling
The previous teaser reveals an apron-mounted bar-type LED headlamp design similar to the CUV e: scooter. The overall styling of the electric version of the Activa is expected to be a mix between the Honda CUV e: and the ICE (internal combustion engine) Activa. Also, there will likely be no compromise on features. Like the CUV e: the Activa Electric could get a TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.
The Honda Activa Electric will take on the Ather 450X, Ola S1, TVS iQube, and the Bajaj Chetak lineup upon arrival in India.
