Hero will reveal the new Xtreme 200R’s pricing at the 2018 Auto Expo next month.
Hero MotoCorp has showcased the Xtreme 200R, the long overdue production-spec version of the Hero Xtreme 200S concept, which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.
Previously rumoured to be called as Xtreme NXT, the new Hero Xtreme 200R is now effectively the most powerful motorcycle in Hero’s line up, as the bike fills up the void left over by the now discontinued Karizma twins. It will also be the only 150cc plus segment offering by Hero MotoCorp.
The bike draws its power from an all-new 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is good for producing 18bhp of max power and 17.1Nm of peak torque. This carburated motor is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
The Xtreme 200R will have dual disc brakes, and single-channel ABS will be offered as an option. The bike sits on 17-inch tyres –100/80 section up front and 130/70 at the rear. The 200R weighs 146kg (wet) and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60km/h in a claimed 4.6 seconds.
Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that the deliveries of the new Xtreme 200R will commence in April this year. The bike will be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo, where the official prices will also be revealed. The 200R will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, Yamaha FZ25 and TVS Apache RTR 200 in India.
