With the launch of several appealing products like the new Karizma XMR, Hero MotoCorp has gradually extended its presence in the premium two-wheeler segment. The popular bikemaker is now gearing up to introduce the Xoom 160, its first high-end scooter. For those unaware, the ADV was previously unveiled in India at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Show. In a recent development, according to sources, the brand plans to roll out the scooter in the domestic market within the next few weeks. Notably, Hero MotoCorp is about to embark on an exciting phase with the launch of the Xoom 160, which represents a technological and design turning point for the firm. Here's all that you need to know about the upcoming model.

Hero Xoom 160: Engine and Power Details

The new Xoom 160 will be powered by a 156cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This unit can put out 13.7Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm and a maximum power output of 14bhp at 8,000rpm. The ADV will come with i3S technology, which has an idle stop and silent start function. The scooter weighs 141 kilograms with a full tank of gas. The maker claimed that these figures, which were on exhibit at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo, are from the pre-production version. However, when it launches, the numbers are expected to stay more or less the same for the production model.

Hero Xoom 160: Styling Cues and Hardware

Let's now move on to the design elements. Owing to its split LED headlights, small beak, and big windscreen, the Xoom 160 boasts an appearance reminiscent of an ADV. In order to create a unified appearance, the scooter looks long and broad when viewed from the side. This should convert into a spacious boot because of the long wheelbase and the central spine that houses the fuel tank.

Similar to the Xoom 125R, the Xoom 160 also sports 14-inch wheels, but they seem wider. It further has block-pattern tyres installed, suggesting that the latest offering may be able to do soft-roading. The demo scooter which was on display at the 2023 EICMA had a top box indicating that the company is certain the model will be able to travel farther. For suspension duties, it gets a standard telescopic fork arrangement up front and dual spring shocks at the back.

Hero Xoom 160: Features

In terms of features, the Hero Xoom 160 will come equipped with capabilities like keyless ignition, remote seat opening, LED illumination, and smart find, which allows you to locate the scooter in a parking space by simply pressing a button on your keyfob. Whether or not this scooter will include GPS and phone connectivity is unknown at this time. However, it makes sense to assume that it would include these features as well, considering that this will be a brand-new scooter from the company.

Hero Xoom 160: Market Rivals and Anticipated Price

The manufacturer is expected to launch the scooter in various international markets as well. When it comes to market competitors, the Xoom 160 will fight off against the Aprilia SXR 160 and the Yamaha Aerox 155. Lastly, the ex-showroom price of the Hero model should be competitive, at about Rs 1.30 lakh.
