With a number of new models offering various displacements, Hero has hopes of further strengthening its position in the premium market. The manufacturer is also developing new offerings for the market's most budget-conscious consumers, including the recently spotted Xoom variant, which could come with a bigger 125cc engine. When compared to the latest design patent that popped up recently, the upcoming scooter from the homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer seems rather sober and simpler. Following its launch in India, the Hero Xoom 125 will compete against the popular Honda Activa 125 as well as the TVS Ntorq. Here are all the important details that you need to know about the recently spied Xoom test mule on the local roads of Jaipur.

Hero Xoom 125: Design Details
While the apron is robust and sporty, the floorboard is somewhat short, making the scooter appear a bit more compact than the current model. With multiple cuts and slashes, the side panels are hefty but muscular. Intriguingly, the wheels look to be rather huge, maybe 14-inch ones. The scooter also has contoured single-piece seating and sporty split grip rails. Given that the indicators are LED components, it is reasonable to presume that the headlight and taillight may also be LED components. A full-LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation is most likely to be included in the scooter. Other distinguishing features include a rear monoshock, a rear telescopic fork with a front disc, apron-mounted cubby holes, and a slim exhaust. The huge storage cubbies on the front apron and the mirror units are the only features that remain the same as the existing Xoom.

Hero Xoom 125: Expected Mechanical Specs
Since the Xoom 110's motor is substantially the same as that of the other two 110cc Hero scooters, the new Xoom 125 may also feature the same unit. If so, the Destini 125 and the Maestro Edge 125's air-cooled, single-cylinder, 124.6cc engine might be working here as well, and the power numbers are probably not going to change much from the present 9.1bhp and 10.4Nm.
