Hero will launch the XPulse in two variants – in road-biased form and off-road cred. There’s another full faired offering coming too – all on the same day!
The last few months have been all about big, expensive and premium motorcycles. There has been barely anything that enthusiasts could call affordable or accessible. Things are about to change, as the wait for one of the most anticipated motorcycles will soon come to an end. Ladies and gentlemen, we are glad to publish that the Hero XPulse will finally be launched on 1st May. And Hero also seems to have a surprise for us. Our guess? Expect a full faired offering too.
For those who know little about the Hero XPulse. It was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018 and is Hero’s answer to the horrible roads we have in this country. Does that remind you of the Hero Impulse? Well, this one promises to be the ‘more powerful Impulse’ that enthusiasts have been waiting for. Powered by a 200cc air-cooled fuel injected motor, this one pushes out a whisker over 18bhp and 17Nm. This engine comes paired with a 5-speed transmission.
Hero will bring in the XPulse in two variants – 200 and 200T. The former will sport a 19-inch rim up front and a 17-inch one at the back for better off-roading capabilities. The road-focused 200T will get 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. The Hero XPulse 200 will also get knobby tyres, knuckle guards and more.
When launched the Hero XPulse is expected to be the most affordable off-road offering in India. Expect it to be priced in the Rs 1-1.2 lakh range. The next most affordable off-road offering is the Royal Enfield Himalayan priced at 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
Along with the XPulse, Hero is also likely to bring in a full faired version of the Hero Xtreme 200R. Although details of the motorcycle are not out as yet, we got a sneak peek of it earlier this year.
