Hero MotoCorp Total Sales Drop by 4.11% in May

Hero MotoCorp has announced its sales numbers for the month of May 2024. The automaker sold a total of 4.98 lakh units last month, registering a YoY decline of 4.11%.

In May 2024, Hero MotoCorp recorded total sales of 4.98 lakh units, showing a YoY decrease of 4.11% from the 5.19 lakh units sold in the same month the previous year. Its domestic sales reached 4.79 lakh units this May, a year-on-year dip of 7% over last year's 5.08 lakh units. Exports, on the other hand, surged by 67.25% to 18,673 units, up from 11,165 in May 2023. The company sold 4.71 lakh motorcycles in May 2024, a decrease of 3.7% from 4.89 lakh units delivered during the same period last year. It supplied 26,937 scooters last month, witnessing a year-on-year decline of over 11%. In the first two months of the 2025 fiscal year (April–May), the company experienced a 12.6% gain with 10.31 lakh units sold. It delivered 9.15 lakh units at the same time in FY2024.  According to the company, the Vida V1 electric scooter and the new Xtreme 125R garnered the highest market interest.

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0

To celebrate the Hero Splendor's 30th anniversary, Hero MotoCorp launched the Splendor+ Xtec 2.0, in India for Rs 82,911 in May. With multiple premium and first-in-segment amenities, the new edition costs Rs 3,000 more than its predecessor. It still has a familiar silhouette, with three new dual-tone colour schemes: Matte Grey, Gloss Black, and Gloss Red.

The motorcycle sports an LED headlamp with a built-in LED position lamp and an H-shaped LED taillamp in the rear. Other notable features include an all-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and message notifications and idle start-stop technology.

The Splendor Xtec 2.0 has a 100cc air-cooled mill, which produces 8.05Nm and 7.09 bhp, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike's mileage stands at 73km/l. It is fitted with standard telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. For braking, the bike uses the drum setup at both ends.
