Hero MotoCorp launched its flagship model, the Mavrick 440, in February. The bike comes in three variants – Base, Mid, and Top, priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, Rs 2.14 lakh, and Rs 2.24 lakh, respectively. The prices are ex-showroom. Given that the model was co-developed with Harley-Davidson, it does have some structural similarities to the X440, the brand's most affordable offering. In a recent exciting development, the company has applied for a new trademark for the "Mavrick 440 Scrambler" moniker, indicating that Hero MotoCorp might be working on a Mavrick 440 variant. So without any further ado, let's quickly glance through what the upcoming Hero model may have in store for us.
Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler: Expected Changes
For the Scrambler version, Hero MotoCorp will likely introduce subtle mechanical tweaks in addition to several cosmetic improvements. Therefore, expect a new seat, a larger handlebar, different footpegs, and a separate set of dual-purpose tyres. The front wheel on Scramblers typically measures 19 inches, so the bikemaker will probably alter the wheel size as well. It is anticipated that the rear springs will stay the same while the front forks will receive gaiters. Other modifications could come in the form of hand guards, a new mudguard, and distinct graphics for the fuel tank.
Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler: Engine Specs and Features
The upcoming model will be powered by the same 440cc air-cooled engine as the one found in the X440. The motor puts out 27bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 36Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. Notably, this torque output is 2Nm less than the X440. It is mated to a six-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch. Low-end torque has been given priority in the engine's tuning to ensure a comfortable ride for both city commutes and interstate excursions.
The feature set won't change. As a result, you can expect an all-LED lighting setup and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Considering that the motorcycle is a scrambler, Hero MotoCorp may install switchable ABS.
Hero Mavrick 440 Deliveries Commence
Meanwhile, the firm has commenced the deliveries of the Mavrick 440 across India. The initial batch of buyers received the keys to their bikes from Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, signalling the beginning of sales from the Hero Premia store in Gurugram. Furthermore, for bookings made before March 15, buyers receive a personalised kit of accessories and merchandise worth Rs 10,000. Given that Hero has only recently begun delivering the Mavrick 440 to buyers, we anticipate the Scrambler version to be introduced later in the year.
The Mavrick 440's mid-spec variant with alloy wheels is available in two dual-tone colour schemes, Fearless Red and Celestial Blue, whereas the entry-level variant with spoked wheels comes decked in Arctic White. Lastly, there is a top variant, which is offered with diamond-cut alloys and has Phantom Black and Enigma Black as colour options.
