With the new Mavrick 440, Hero MotoCorp has ventured into the higher-end motorcycle segment. The Hero bike, which is based on the Harley-Davidson X440, is offered in three variants—Base, Mid, and Top—with a starting price of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Alongside the price announcement, the two-wheeler automaker has begun reservations for the bike at Rs 5,000. It is the brand's first middleweight motorbike, with a muscular fuel tank, circular LED headlamps and DRLs, and metallic accents on various areas including the front fender and shrouds. The bike's wide handlebar and distinctive exhaust design complete the entire aesthetic. The Hero bike's direct competitors in the Indian market include the Triumph Speed 400, the Jawa 350, the Honda CB350, and the Royal Enfield Classic 350, aside from the Harley-Davidson X440, on which it is based. Here's all the information about the newly released Hero MotoCorp bike.
Hero Mavrick 440: Engine and Hardware
As we have already informed earlier, the brand-new Hero Mavrick shares its fundamentals with the Harley Davidson X440 and sits on a trellis steel frame. It is propelled by a single-cylinder, 440cc oil-cooled engine coupled to a six-speed transmission and a slip-and-assist clutch. However, the engine has been tuned slightly to complement the bike's roadster character. As a result, the motor generates 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 36Nm at 4,000rpm, which is 2Nm lower than the X440.
Regarding the bike components, the suspension system of the Hero bike consists of twin shock absorbers and telescopic forks. This differs from the USD fork and dual shock configuration of the X440. It features 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes alongside dual-channel ABS. Additionally, the bike rolls on 17-inch wheels with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres. While the Base version is equipped with spoke wheels, the Mid and Top variants feature alloy wheels.
Hero Mavrick 440: Features and Colours
Advanced telematics capabilities on the bike comprise turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone integration, and real-time information via eSIM-based networking. While the base variant with spoke wheels has Arctic White colour, the mid variant with alloys comes in two dual-tone color schemes: Celestial Blue and Fearless Red. The high-end version, available in Phantom Black or Enigma Black paint jobs, features diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Hero Mavrick 440: Price and Bookings
The base model costs Rs 1.99 lakh, while the Mid model has a price tag of Rs 2.14 lakh. The higher-spec version, on the other hand, retails for Rs 2.24 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices. For Rs 5,000, reservations are being accepted for the Hero middleweight motorcycle. However, the automaker has launched the 'Welcome to Mavrick Club Offer'. With this, buyers who reserve a Mavrick 440 by March 15 will be given a custom Mavrick Kit of Accessories & Merchandise valued at Rs 10,000.
