There is a new American cruiser in town! The Sportsters S has landed on the Indian shore, and Harley-Davidson has taken the opportunity of the India Bike Week 2021 to unveil its new cruiser amidst enthusiast bikers.
Harley-Davidson India launched the new Sportster S at the India Bike Week 2021. The new American cruiser demands Rs. 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it substantially more affordable than its direct rival, the Ducati Diavel 1260. The Italian hyper-cruiser is priced at Rs. 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the new Harley-Davidson Sportster S.
The Sportster S has been developed all-new from the ground up which means a new chassis, a new engine, and modern, yet retro styling. All the details of the new 2021 Harley -Davidson Sportster S are available here.
To give a quick run through about the new cruiser, the motorcycle packs 1,252cc 60-degree V-twin engine which we have experienced in the Harley-Davidson Pan-America and you can read about our impressions of that motorcycle by clicking here. The power output is rated at 119.3bhp and 127.4Nm, and all of it is sent to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle also packs a few modern features such as IMU-based cornering ABS and traction control along with five riding modes. The motorcycle features a TFT-screen for instrumentation and the headlamps are all-LED.
We’re expecting Harley-Davidson to commence the deliveries of the new Sportster S by January 2022.
