Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 Name Trademarked in India; Here's What You Can Expect

Industry sources claim that the Hero and Harley partnership will again make headlines after nearly a month since the release of the all-new Harley-Davidson X440. If reports are true, the two well-known brands are teaming up to create a brand-new motorcycle that will soon be available for sale in India. Hero Motocorp reportedly trademarked the name "Nightster 440." Although the firm has not yet made any official announcement, it is anticipated that the forthcoming Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 will sit below the new X440 in the range.

For starters, the recently-launched Harley-Davidson X440 employs a single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, which has been refined to deliver 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It has a 6-speed gearbox for transmission. Prices for the two-wheeler begin at Rs 2.29 lakh and go up all the way to Rs 2.69 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Harley-Davidson Nightster 440: Mechanical Specs

As far as the engine goes, the expected model will reportedly follow the X440. It might include the same 440cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled unit, which produces a maximum torque of 38Nm and 27bhp, paired with A 6-speed gearbox. Hardware-wise, the Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 can come with standard telescopic forks up front. Contrastingly, the X440 has 43mm KYB USD forks. Similar to the X440, the speculated bike may offer options for both wire-spoke and alloy wheels. 

Harley-Davidson Nightster 440: Design

The Harley-Davidson Nightster 440 is anticipated to take inspiration from the 975cc Nightster motorcycle for the design. Despite sharing a foundation with the X440, the upcoming bike will presumably provide customers with a better riding experience, and feature improved handling and stability.

Market reports hint that the upcoming model will have a range of amenities, including a single circular instrument pod, straightforward control buttons, a rounded headlight, round bar-end mirrors, a broad handlebar, a streamlined fuel tank, exposed twin shock absorbers at the back, and a large rear fender, etc.
