Greenvolt Mobility launches Mantis e-bike

Greenvolt Mobility, an Ahmedabad-based start-up has recently launched a new electric bike – Mantis. Priced at Rs 34,999, the bike has already been launched in Ahmedabad. The company is scheduled to launch it in Mumbai on 22nd December, and in Bangalore on 5th January, 2020. Greenvolt also plans to expand to Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai in January 2020.

Coming to the bike itself, the Mantis looks pretty much like a bicycle but without pedals. In fact, it comes fitted with wider tyres and wider seat. Interestingly, no registration or license is required to use this e-bike. The Mantis is powered by a 250-watt electric motor that gives it a riding range of 50km. The bike comes fitted with a light-weight battery pack that takes 2.5 hours for a full charge. Top-speed of the Mantis is 25km/h. The Mantis comes fitted with LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster and disc brakes on both wheels. The company is also offering a warranty of 2 years.

Speaking about the launch, Sarthak Baxi, CEO, Greenvolt Mobility said, ““We are thrilled to expand our operations in other cities. Mantis is designed and developed to make daily commutes more convenient, affordable and eco-friendly. We are planning to open 60 Authorized sales and service station by June 2020 in all the major cities of India and Mantis will serve as the first step of the ladder in making electric vehicles mainstream in India”

Bookings for the Mantis have already commenced at Rs 999. Early birds can take home the Mantis at Rs 34,999. Once the dealerships are fully functional, the price will be revised to Rs 37,999.
