The Aprilia SR 160 will soon get a mild update. Apart from the 160cc scooter, the brand is also bringing in two new variants of the Aprilia SR 125.
The launch of the facelift Aprilia SR 160 is just around the corner. Alongside the 2022 Aprilia SR 160, the firm will also launch the SR 125 Carbon and the SR 125 Race. The Italian two-wheeler maker has also commenced pre-bookings for the upcoming scooters on its online portal. The launch of the three scooters is expected by the end of this month.
For the mid-life update, the SR 160 will sport a new headlamp design. The scooter is likely to get the all-digital instrument cluster that is offered with the SXR 125 and the SXR 160. The scooter is expected to debut with new colour options as well.
Mechanically, the new Aprilia SR 160 is likely to remain the same as the outgoing model. The same 160cc single-cylinder engine will power the new scooter. The output is expected to be the same as well at 10.86bhp and 11.6Nm.
The SR 125 Race and Carbon variants are expected to sport a similar fascia as the upcoming SR 160. The Race variant of the SR 125 is likely to be equipped with a CVT’box, which will be tuned for spirited riding. The SR 125 Carbon, on the other hand, is expected with a new fascia, a digital instrument cluster, and an exclusive paint scheme. The engine of the new SR 125s is expected to be the same as the outgoing model – the 125cc single-cylinder unit, producing 9.7bhp and 9.7Nm.
The current Aprilia SR 160 is priced between Rs 1.06 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.13 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2022 SR 160, however, is likely to demand a premium of Rs 5,000 across variants.
The new Aprilia SR 125 Race and Carbon are likely to have a price tag between Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
