The first unit of the Ducati Superleggera V4 (001/500) has rolled off the production line. The lucky owner has been invited to the Borgo Panigale factory for a special handover of the bike by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali.
Bologna's most powerful production bike to date, the Superleggera V4, has officially entered production, and the first unit will (#001/500) soon be delivered to its owner by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali himself. First revealed in February 2020, the Superleggera V4 will see a limited production run of just 500 units, given the fact that each one will set its owner back by roughly €100,000 (approx. ₹78 lakh).
This uber-exclusive nature of the bike is reflected by the progressive numbering (XXX/500) marked on each bike's steering head & ignition key. Plus, each unit of the Panigale Superleggera V4 comes with a certificate of authenticity and a 1:10 scale model, bearing the production serial number of the actual bike!
The Superleggera V4 is the first road-legal production bike in the world to have the entire load-bearing structure of the chassis (frame, subframe, swingarm, and rims) made of carbon fibre. Extensive use of composite materials ensures that the Superleggera V4 tips the scales at just 159kg, 16kg less than a standard Panigale V4. The above-mentioned components alone contribute weight-saving of about 6.7kg.
