The Scrambler 1100 will be the third Ducati to be launched in the year so far
Ducati seems to be on a motorcycle launching spree. The company brought in the refreshed Monster 821 earlier in May and soon followed it up with the launch of the Multistrada 1250. Now, the company is readying to launch the Scrambler 1100 in India on 27th August. As the name rightly suggests, the Scrambler 1100 has a larger 1,079cc L-twin motor that delivers 85bhp and 88.4Nm. In comparison, the standard Scrambler comes with an 803cc L-twin unit that makes 73.9bhp and 68Nm.
In terms of design, the Scrambler 1100 looks somewhat identical to its larger sibling. The retro-modern appeal is maintained thanks to the round headlight, flat seat, and the tall handlebar. In comparison to the single-side stubby exhaust on the smaller Scrambler, this one has a twin-side underseat exhaust.
The design may be somewhat identical but the Scrambler 1100 is based on an all-new platform that easily accommodates the larger motor. The swing-arm is new as well. Considering the more powerful motor, the Scrambler 1100 also comes with increased safety tech like cornering ABS, and traction control. It also comes with three riding modes – Active, Journey and City.
In the international market, the Scrambler 1100 comes in three variants – 1100, 1100 Special and 1100 Sport. Expect the Ducati Scrambler 1100 to be priced around the Rs 11-12 lakh mark.
