Selling 45,100 motorcycles worldwide in 2014, Ducati does record sales in 2014.
For the fifth year in a row, Ducati posted growth in terms of sales figures. The Italian motorcycle manufacturer sold 45,100 units worldwide which is 2% more than what it sold in 2013.
The Monster played an important role in Ducati writing this success story. The Monster family, with two new members – Monster 1200 and Monster 821, grew by 31% over 2013 sales selling 16,409 more motorcycles than 2013. The superbike family grew by 12% with the total score of 9,788 motorcycles.
The Mexican market saw a growth of 8% and the growth in North America remained almost similar to 2013. The U.S. market posted a sales figure of 8,804 units making it the biggest market for Ducati. The European market declined a little (3%) at 19,743 units. The home ground, Italy, saw a decline a 14% over 2013 figures with 4,284 units. United Kingdom’s market grew by 16% with 2,742 motorcycles sold.
Asia, Australia and Japan reported growth of 11%, 13% and 1% respectively. Ducati sold 5,787 units in Asia, 2,132 in Australia, and 2,558 units in Japan.
In China specifically, the motorcycle manufacturer sold 97% more bikes than 2013. Thailand market grew by 22% where Ducati sold 3,057 motorcycles.
