Launched in November 2018, the Ducati Panigale V4 R is the most powerful road legal production motorcycle on sale in India. Two of the five units allotted for India have now been booked
The Indian market is really warming up to big bad motorcycles. Ducati brought in manic the Panigale V4 R in November last year. The Italian brand has already received 2 bookings, deliveries of which will happen next month. Ducati launches the V4 R at Rs 51.87 lakh (ex-showroom).
This isn’t just an ‘ordinary’ Panigale. It is the most powerful production motorcycle by Ducati. But just how powerful is it? The Panigale V4 S holds the record of the fastest production motorcycle around the Buddh International Circuit with a lap time of 1:56.316 at the hands of Ducati Test Rider Alessandro Valia. And that motorcycle develops 6bhp less than the V4 R. As far as the specs are concerned, the V4 R displaces 998cc - making sure that it meets the World Superbike regulations. It develops an insane 217bhp and 112Nm, and comes paired with a 6-speed transmission. Ducati has worked on the aerodynamics to ensure that it is faster and employed weight saving measures with extensive usage of carbon fibre.
To tame all the hyper energy, the V4 R comes with wheelie control, slide control, cornering ABS, quickshifter and more.
Speaking on the occasion Sergi Canovas, Managing Director Ducati India said, “The Panigale V4 R is a depiction of the finest Ducati precision and racing pedigree that delivers performance akin to a MotoGP bike. Bringing that experience in India marks a special chapter for Ducati. We are very excited and proud to have the Panigale V4 R on the Indian racetracks very soon. There is nothing quite like the Panigale V4 R and we are confident that it will disrupt the racing and riding experience for the superbike enthusiasts in the country.”
Both the units that have been booked will be delivered in August. Ducati has only allotted 5 units of the motorcycle for India only 3 of which can be booked now.
