Ducati Diavel 1260 S gets a new colour scheme called ‘Black and Steel’. In case the Ducati Red is too attention-grabbing for your taste the new colour scheme gets a more matte black finish with subtle bright highlights
Just days after the Ducati Diavel 1260 and the Divale 1260 S made a comeback in the Indian market, the Italian manufacturer has unveiled a ‘Black and Steel’ edition of the hyper cruiser in the international market.
The new edition is based on the model year 2022 (MY22) and joining the Diavel line-up with its ‘S’ family. The changes are skin deep and the mechanicals are identical to the Diavel 1260 S.
Speaking of the cosmetic changes, the Diavel 1260 S ‘Black and Steel’ edition sports a colour combination of matte Black and gloss Yellow instead of the Ducati Red – that is on sale in the Indian market.
The monocoque chassis that comes painted in red, sports a gloss Yellow finish on this new edition. The under-seat panel gets a gloss Yellow finish along with Yellow highlights on the underbelly panel and alloy wheels. The fuel tank, tank extensions and underbelly are finished in matte Black. The ‘Diavel’ on the tank and the ‘S’ badge on the extensions come painted in Yellow – fine attention to detail.
The engine is the same 1262cc 90-degree V-twin unit that makes 159bhp and 129Nm. The gearbox is a six-speed unit that gets a quick-shifter as standard.
The Diavel 1260 S ‘Black and Steel’ has been priced at $24,395 which is $1,000 over the Diavel 1260 S. The motorcycle will be sold in the international markets and will reach dealership floors later this year. In India, Ducati could launch ‘Black and Steel’ as an exclusive special edition. The new edition could be positioned above the newly launched Diavel 1260 S – which is priced at Rs 21.49 lakh ex-showroom – for a premium price tag.
