BMW Motorrad is set to announce the price of the latest R 1300 GS Adventure at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Ahead of its official launch, the bikemaker has offered a glimpse of the new model through an official teaser image. Upon its introduction to the Indian market, the R 1300 GS Adventure will be positioned as a more premium offering above the standard R 1300 GS, which carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 21.20 lakh. The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is offered globally in four variants: Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy, Basic, and Option 719 Karakorum. With a weight of 269 kg, the GSA is 32 kg heavier than the standard R 1300 GS and only 1 kg heavier than its predecessor, the R 1250 GSA. Upon launch, the base variant of GS Adventure will likely cost Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Design

One of the most striking updates to the R 1300 GSA is its more angular and rugged design, highlighted by a larger 30-litre fuel tank. This redesigned tank not only provides greater capacity but also features an updated shape with non-slip rubber surfaces on the flatter upper sections. While the iconic X-shaped LED headlight from the standard model remains, the front end of the GSA has been significantly enlarged and redefined. For enhanced lighting, a lean-sensitive adaptive headlamp is available as an optional upgrade, along with two auxiliary lights unique to the GSA.

The motorcycle is equipped with a taller windscreen as standard, with an option for an electrically adjustable version. Space above the headlight accommodates an optional forward radar system that powers adaptive cruise control and front collision warning features. Additionally, a rear-facing radar system enables an optional lane change warning function.

Storage options include pre-fitted mounting points for luggage, such as a 12-litre BMW Motorrad auxiliary tank bag. Riders can further enhance their storage capacity with optional accessories, including two aluminum panniers with a combined volume of 73.5 litres and a 37-litre aluminum top case, ensuring ample space for extended travels.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Engine Specs

The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is powered by the same 1,300cc boxer twin engine as the standard model, delivering an impressive 143bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. For the first time, BMW has integrated a six-speed gearbox beneath the engine of the R 1300 GS. However, the Adventure variant takes it further by offering an optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), essentially BMW’s semi-automatic transmission system.

The ASA provides Automated Drive (D) and Manual (M) modes. In Drive mode, the system automatically selects shift points based on factors such as lean angle, riding mode, throttle input, and engine speed. Manual mode, on the other hand, retains the traditional gear-shifting experience via the foot lever. Notably, even in Drive mode, riders can manually override the system and shift gears as needed, blending convenience with control.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Hardware and Features

The chassis integrates an aluminum tube and forged lattice back frame paired with a sheet metal shell main frame. The R 1300 GS Adventure also features EVO Paralever rear suspension, EVO Telelever front suspension, and BMW’s latest electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment system. This advanced suspension system dynamically adjusts spring rates and damping for both the front and rear.

The bike comes standard with cross-spoke aluminum wheels, but riders can opt for lightweight enduro forged wheels, which reduce weight by nearly 2 kg. The wheel sizes remain consistent with the standard GS, featuring a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear. Braking is handled by dual 310mm discs with four-piston radial-mount callipers at the front and a single 285mm disc with a two-piston floating calliper at the rear.

The new GS Adventure boasts an impressive array of features. All four variants come equipped with four riding modes and advanced lean-sensitive riding aids, including engine brake control, hill hold assist, and cornering ABS. For enthusiasts tackling extreme off-road conditions, an optional Enduro mode is also available. Across the lineup, a suite of advanced electronics and features is offered, with options such as adaptive cruise control, Pro-Ride modes, electronic suspension, and adjustable ride height.
