BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. With an imposing appearance, a new semi-automatic transmission, and a comprehensive list of standard and optional amenities, the new model is built for longer trips with an increased range. The new Adventure variant comes with an optional front radar-assisted cruise control system, a new cross-designed LED headlight, and the same 1,300cc engine as the most recent BMW R 1300 GS. A total of four distinct variants are available for the R 1300 GS Adventure: Basic, Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy, and Option 719 Karakorum. Here's everything you need to know about the new BMW model.
BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Styling Elements
The most noticeable alteration to the new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is its overall boxier appearance, with a larger 30-litre fuel tank. Not only does the fuel tank boast more volume, but its shape has also been modified, with non-slip rubber on flatter sections above the tank. Despite keeping the X-shaped LED headlight from the base model, the GS Adventure's front end is significantly larger and comparatively different. However, a lean-sensitive adaptive headlamp is an optional feature for the GS Adventure. The GSA additionally receives two auxiliary lights.
Along with a higher windscreen, the bike also comes with an electrically adjustable screen as an option. The optional forward radar system, which powers the adaptive cruise control and front collision warning systems, has space above the headlight. The optional lane change warning system is activated by a rear-facing radar system. Further, pre-attached mounting points for luggage – a 12-litre BMW Motorrad auxiliary tank bag – are included. Two aluminium panniers with a combined capacity of 73.5 litres and a 37-litre aluminium top case are available as additional luggage options.

BMW R 1300 GS Adventure: Mechanical Details
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure has the same 1,300cc boxer twin engine as the standard model. This unit churns out 149Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm and 143bhp of maximum power at 7,750rpm. The premium bikemaker has placed a six-speed gearbox beneath the engine of the R 1300 GS for the first time, but the GSA goes one better by providing the optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), which is effectively BMW's semi-automatic gearbox.
The automated Drive (D) mode and the manual Mode (M) are available with the ASA. When using Drive mode, the electronics determine the shifting points using multiple parameters including lean angle, riding mode, throttle position, and rpm. Meanwhile, manual shifting provides the traditional shifting experience through the foot gear lever. Additionally, in Drive mode, the rider can manually shift gears as needed.

The new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure comes equipped with an extensive feature set. All four models get four riding modes in addition to the standard lean-sensitive riding aids, such as engine brake control, hill hold assist, and cornering ABS. For hardcore off-roading, there is also the optional Enduro riding mode. Furthermore, a comprehensive array of electronics and features is available for all four variants, with varying options like adaptive cruise control, pro-ride modes, electronic suspension, and adjustable ride height. Even the entry-level model has a generous number of features.

The chassis is composed of an aluminium tube and forged part lattice back frame and a sheet metal shell main frame. EVO Paralever rear suspension, EVO Telelever front suspension, and the newest electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment system are all fitted to the R 1300 GS Adventure. With the new setup, the spring rate is altered in tandem with dynamic damping adjustments for the front and rear.
The new R 1300 GS Adventure is equipped with conventional cross-spoke aluminium wheels, but it also has the option of enduro forged wheels, which weigh almost 2 kg less.
