The BMW R 12 S is a gorgeous tribute to the classic R 90 S, which made its debut in 1973 with its characteristic 'Daytona Orange' colour, vivid styling, and outstanding performance. The new R 12 S redefines this famous machine, with a brilliant Lava Orange Metallic colour scheme. It is based on the R 12 nineT, which was released as a major update to the R nineT last year. The bike embodies the essence of retro design, combining classic components with modern flair. It features a distinctive half-fairing inspired by old cafe racers, as well as bar-end mirrors that add to its timeless charm.

BMW R 12 S: What’s More?
The BMW R 12 S is driven by a 1,170cc boxer-twin engine that produces a maximum power of 109bhp and a peak torque of 115Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox and a shaft drive system. In addition to its robust mechanical setup, the R 12 S gets electronic rider aids such as engine brake control, hill start assist, traction control, multiple ride modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic), heated grips, cruise control, and keyless ride. The top speed of the bike stands at 215km/h.

The bike comes with fully adjustable upside-down (USD) front forks and a rear monoshock for suspension. Its braking setup includes twin 310mm front discs and a single 265mm rear disc. The R 12 S rides on 17-inch wheels, with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyres.
BMW R 12 S: Will it Come to India?
Although BMW has not made an official statement, industry reports indicate that the R 12 S is unlikely to be launched in India. However, in the USA, the BMW R 12 S is priced at USD 21,590, which is roughly equivalent to Rs 18.26 lakh.
