Deliveries of the motorcycles will begin this month for customers who have pre-booked them.
BMW Motorrad’s much-awaited touring range of motorcycles has been launched in India. The range consists of the new R 1250 RT and three versions of the K 1600 – the K 1600 GTL, K 1600 Bagger, and K 1600 Grand America. While the R 1250 RT is priced at ₹23.95 lakh, the K 1600 Bagger, GTL, and Grand America will set you back by ₹29.90 lakh, ₹32 lakh, and ₹33 lakh, respectively. All prices are ex-showroom.
The R 1250 RT is propelled by BMW's famed twin-cylinder boxer engine (1,254cc), which develops 134bhp @ 7,750rpm and 143Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. Thanks to these figures, the R 1250 RT does the 0 – 100 km/h run in just 3.7 seconds and tops out at 200 km/h. In terms of features, it comes with BMW Motorrad's Full Integral ABS Pro, three riding modes (including Eco), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and a new multifunctional instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch full-colour TFT display as standard.
The K 1600 is BMW Motorrad's range-topping cruiser and is powered by the brand's in-line six-cylinder engine (1,649cc). The power & torque figures stand at 158bhp @ 6,750rpm and 180Nm @ 5,250rpm, respectively. In terms of standard equipment, the BMW K 1600 features engine drag torque control (MSR), next-gen dynamic electronic suspension (ESA) with fully automatic load compensation, a fully adaptive LED headlight, and the same 10.25-inch full-colour TFT display as the R 1250 RT.
The K 1600 Bagger features a true-blue Bagger style-inspired low rear section, and the K 1600 Grand America is derived from it. The latter features additional touring equipment. The K 1600 GTL, meanwhile, comes with a top case as standard.
